There are numerous options, when it comes to getting around in Washington, including by Metrobus, Metrorail or the DC Circulator, which is a downtown circulator bus system, owned by the District of Columbia Department of Transportation, that offers five routes connecting points of interest in the city center.
The city is also served by Amtrak, Greyhound and by Peter Pan Bus Lines, including by BoltBus, Megabus, and many other Chinatown bus lines, and there are also several Metrorail stations that offer connections to Home Ride, a bus service which connects Virginia Tech, Radford University, James Madison University, and the University of Virginia to the northern Virginia area, a service very much useful for students.
Driving, walking or riding the bike are also popular ways to get around in Washington. However, given the fact that, the Washington Metropolitan Area is often cited as having some of the nation's worst traffic and congestion, driving may not be a good idea after all.
